This contemporary 3 bedroom, 3 bath new home's design started with a particular challenge: the owners were downsizing and wanted to build a 2,000 square-foot house that felt as spacious as a much larger house. Meeting the challenge meant using floor-to-ceiling windows that welcome natural light and created easy access to the outdoors from the common rooms, wrapping the house around the garden and effectively making the yard into another room. In 2011 we added a second story "nest" that includes a guest bedroom and bathroom.
